Krone expands it Swadro rake portfolio
Further strong points of the TC 1370 include the modern and stylish design and the option of choosing between two tyre dimensions. Tractor attachment is either via the standard two-point headstock or the optional 80 ball hitch. Hydraulic connection also offers the choice between a standard load-sensing solution and connection to a regular oil circuit as an option. Down on the brakes, buyers can choose between a standard air and optional hydraulic system.
The design
The restyled and rugged trapezium frame and the modified suspension of the arms give Swadro TC 1370 a modern appearance and extended lifespan. A new and split plastic cover is in place protecting the electronic components, the valve chest and the valves on the front end of the frame. The compact rear end has LED lights and warning panels for adequate road safety and good visibility in work. The main frame of the centre delivery rake lowers hydraulically into transport position without operators having to remove or fold any tines – for convenient, straightforward and fast changeovers and transport heights of less than 4.00 m. The transport running gear has air brakes as standard or hydraulic brakes as an option. The air brake can be upgraded by fitting a brake control. In working position, this reduces the braking force for gentle deceleration and stops in the field whereas in transport position it provides the full braking force for effective machine control on public roads.
The transport running gear is fitted with either standard 620/40R22.5 or 710/35R22.5 tyres for extra quiet running on public roads and extra gentle treading in the field. The wheels on the bogies match these tyre sizes: 16x6.50-8 is the standard and 16x9.50-8 the option to go with 710/35R22.5 tyres on the transport running gear.
The rotors
The rotors on the new Swadro TC 1370 are also designed to meet user needs, raking 10.80m to 13.70m into 1.40m to 2.60m swaths. The tine arms on the two leading rotors have four Lift Tines whereas the two rotors at the rear boast as many as five Lift Tines per arm. Genuine comfort features are the hydraulic rotor suspension with integral vibration damping, the Soft Down drop control and an adjustable headland lift height. Operators can adjust the hydraulic rotor suspension on the move. The Soft Down drop control lowers the rotors very gently into work, enhancing the Krone Jet Effect. The headland lift height is adjusted directly from the tractor cab.
The bogies
The Swadro TC 1370 rotors run on four pivoting and castering wheels front and rear. A 6-wheel running gear is an option. Operators set the rotor height conveniently from the terminal – either for each rotor separately or for all rotors in synch after defining one rotor as the main unit. It is possible to retrieve one of two programmable heights from the terminal to adapt to varying conditions on the move.
Operation
The new and convenient user interface of the TC 1370 display screen is easy to read and use. All machine functions are set up on just two menu levels, with all major work settings being grouped on just one level and constantly displayed on the screen. Swadro TC 1370 is normally operated from an ISOBUS-compatible tractor terminal but also from the new Krone DS 100 / DS 500 or from one of the two ISOBUS-compatible CCI 800 / CCI 1200 terminals as an option. Operator comfort can be further enhanced by the well-proven WTK joystick or the new CCI A3 joystick.
Well-proven engineering
The new generation of rakes features of course also tried-and-trusted Krone engineering: the maintenance-free gearboxes on the rotors and the heavy-duty and unlubricated DuraMax cam tracks with 3-year warranty are sourced from the Krone modular system and from of course also part of the TC 1370. The suspension is the well-proven Krone cardanic suspension which ensures optimum contouring in and across the direction of travel and exemplary crop gathering without contaminating the crop even in very difficult terrain.
The established Krone Jet Effect is also a Swadro TC 1370 feature. The design has the rotor attached in a point ahead of the centre of gravity so the tines will not poke into the ground as the rotor lifts and lowers. Like a jet, its front end lifts out first as it is raised and its rear end touches down first as it lowers to the ground.
Useful accessories kits
The Swadro TC 1370 can be specified with a crop deflector curtain in the middle which moves automatically into position as the rotors lower into work, allowing operators to produce boxy swaths even in awkward plots or one-sided operation. Last, it is possible to specify the TC 1370 with LED work lights for exemplary visibility in dusk, at night or in difficult weather.
