Comprima Facelift marks the anniversary
On the occasion of the two anniversaries, the all-round Comprima models are being given a new appearance before they are showcased at Agritechnica. The update includes new panels on the sides and guards at the rear as well as a modified lighting system which give the baler and modern and appealing look. This said, the technicalities have also received a facelift – a helical pick-up is standard specification now for exemplary crop intakes and a perfect crop flow. The helically arranged tines ensure the 2,150mm camless and the low-maintenance pick-up pulls in wide swaths, significantly reducing the risk of peak loads, because the crop is picked up in a staggered fashion.
Further new features include the ultrasound sensor which replaces the sensor arms on the wrapping table and the extra wheel on the bale turner which effectively protects the sward. Krone has also updated the electronic and the hydraulic system and made it compatible with the KMC job processor. LED work lights are options for Comprima so the machine can continue working at night.
Further on, peripheral film wrap continues to be available for all Comprima models. This offers a number of advantages. Firstly, peripheral film can enhance the silage quality, because it increases the density in the peripheral layer, which restricts the bale’s tendency to expand and hence the risk of moulding. As a result, peripheral film scores on better-quality silage as well as on better economy and ecology. As another advantage, breaking up the bales becomes much easier and there is only film wrap to dispose of. No need to separate film and net. And unlike other systems, this film is not gathered before it is cut on the dispenser, and so the next wrapping cycle commences immediately, with the film already spread to its full width – a detail that saves film and material costs.
Proven technology and popular semi-variable versions
Krone continues to use the proven Novogrip system on the Facelift Comprima models, offering a warranty for up to three years (max. 30,000 bales). The advantage of this is that the baler is able to deliver top performance in all conditions. The baler stands out for a straightforward design as well as for light pulling. The feed rotor and 530mm diameter rotor cutter ensure high throughputs, and the precision cutting system delivers precision cuts. No matter whether the crop is extremely dry or wet, Comprima is a true all-round talent that guarantees high-density bales.
The semi-variable fixed chamber models are also in great demand. Krone is the only manufacturer who markets this technology on a global scale. Although operating to the fixed chamber baling principle, Comprima F 155 (XC) and Comprima CF 155 XC are able to handle 1.25m to 1.5m diameter bales. The benefits are obvious: You can select bale diameters that suit the current crop conditions. Besides, baling large-diameter bales helps reduce the amount of film wrap used.
Currently Krone is offering seven different Comprima models that reflect the entire range of applications customers can possibly ask for – from the fixed chamber to the semi-variable chamber and baler wrapper combination.
The Krone portfolio of round balers offers no fewer than 27 different models. To celebrate the 40th anniversary, Krone is offering a range of different discounts and activities, including at Agritechnica.
