Krone presents a new generation of EasyCut mowers
EasyCut F 280 M, EasyCut F 320 M and EasyCut F 320 CV also feature the new 'SmartCut' system which is now a standard specification. ‘SmartCut’ means the discs are not evenly spaced: the pairs turning outwards are set closer together to increase blade overlap for excellent cuts in thinner crops. Vice versa, the discs turning towards each other are set further apart to provide a larger gap and a smoother flow to the rear without the risk of blockages in dense crops. Thus, this is the ideal system to deliver high work rates and clean cuts in literally all conditions.
In addition to the more sophisticated inner workings, the new mowers also offer plenty of comfort features, including the enclosed and fully welded bed, quick-changing knives and the ‘SafeCut’ impact damage protection system, all of which being standard features. No changes were made to the driveline, which consists of well-proven satellite gears with massive spur gears transferring the power to either end of the bed. The large-diameter spur gears suggest moderate speeds and more teeth in mesh at any one time – to the effect of boosted efficiency, absolutely quiet running and maximum longevity. On top of this, the discs moved to a more forward position for even better cuts.
Comfortable and clever operation on slopes
EasyCut F 280 M (2.73m work width) and EasyCut F 320 M (3.16m work width) are the specialist machines for work on steep slopes. These superlight and compact EasyCut M models bring their centre of gravity closer to the tractor to minimize the load on the tractor’s front axle. Both models suspend in their centre of gravity and pivot through angles of up to 30cm, a degree of travel that allows them to go into rough terrain and work in steep fields and across the slope, whilst delivering perfect cuts. The machines feature two standard top hats and can take two extra hats as an option. EasyCut F 320 M offers a pto shaft that is 95mm higher off the ground for swift and easy attachment to the tractor’s pto.
Swath forming equipment
EasyCut F 280 (2.71m) and EasyCut F 320 (3.14m) are the new front mower conditioners which feature standard active-drive top hats behind the bed to blend the cut crop into a swath that the tractor straddles – a clever technology that produces exemplary results. The driveline consists of the established and well-proven gearbox and four belts. Tractor attachment here is via the pivoting headstock. As for bed protection, these F models have metal or plastic decks with side curtains whereas the M models use canvas allround.
The conditioner is an option
EasyCut F 320 CV (3.16m work width) is a tine conditioner model that is powered by the well-proven drive shaft and mechanical gearbox (600/900rpm conditioner speed). The new CV intensive conditioner bristles with 46 pairs of specifically formed V tines. A tine stop makes sure the system is extremely quiet and protects tine attachment from wear without hampering the massive throughput. The tines will break back as they strike an object and their conditioning intensity is set to one of seven positions without tools on the baffle plate. The large 65cm rotor diameter guarantees smooth operation in long-haulmed crops that requires more inten-sive conditioning. These right-angle tines direct the material past the baffle plate, providing treatment across the full work width. The floating headstock was updated to enhance sward protection, receiving an integral spring suspension system, which maintains the ground pressure in any terrain and allows the machine to accu-rately follow the ground contours. An optional hydraulic suspen-sion system allows operators to change the ground pressure on the move. This innovative Float System earned Krone a silver medal at Agritechnica. As another stand-out comfort feature, the new Krone front mowers EasyCut F 320 CV is also available with hydraulic wings, which the operator swings into transport position without leaving the seat.
