Krone presents new butterfly combinations EasyCut B 1000 CV Collect and EasyCut B 970
Working at a width of 10.1m, EasyCut B 1000 CV Collect is currently the biggest mounted triple mower combination with merger belt on the market. Giving not only an enormous working width, EasyCut B 1000 CV Collect impresses by its CombiFloat feature – a hydro-pneumatic float control system, which actively maintains the pressure inside the hydraulic system for the mower to operate at a uniform ground pressure at all times, even when operating in extremely undulating terrain and at large ground speed variations. Not only does CombiFloat provide the best possible ground and sward protection but also reduces wear and the risk of damage.
How CombiFloat works: From the tractor, the operator presets the hydraulic pressure in the mower’s circuit, which maintains the pressure inside the nitrogen tanks on the individual mowers. The system is compatible with load sensing tractors and requires a double-acting spool on the tractor.
As the mowers glide into a dip, CombiFloat maintains a valve to the tractor open until the preset pressure is re-established. This is very different from traditional systems, where the pressure in the nitrogen dampers typically increases in this situation.
Vice versa, such as when running over a heap, the pressure inside the hydraulic system normally drops and the mower’s ground pressure increases, risking damage to the sward. This is different with CombiFloat, which pumps oil into the tractor's hydraulic system until the preset pressure is re-established. The double-acting coupler on the tractor ensures a constant oil flow and real time control. The optional loadsensing feature ensures the oil flow from the tractor is always just right and to demand.
Another highlight on EasyCut B 1000 CV is its hydraulic cutting width adjustment system, which offsets the rear mowers hydraulically by up to 40cm to provide accurate overlaps as required and a clean cut in difficult conditions, such as when mowing on the slope. No matter how much you vary the work width, the suspension system always adjusts automatically as the parameters change for a constant ground pressure change.
Another innovation is the CV tine conditioner with hardened tines (65cm diameter) that have limit stops to prevent them from swinging forward, a design that makes for very effective conditioning at low tractor inputs. The conditioner can be adjusted to one of seven positions from a pin and hole system on the side of the machine.
The conditioner housing also received an update. This is now made from one piece to increase the overall stability. The rear deck adjusts in height to provide the best possible swath formation and spreading accuracy as crop conditions vary. You can also set the point of crop impact accurately on the 910mm cross belt.
The cross conveyor may be specified with an optional accelerator rotor to provide variable swath widths and suit various harvesters, for example with narrow pick-ups. The system is easily adjusted by simply moving the accelerator into the crop flow on the cross conveyor belt.
The mowers also benefit from a rubber ring, which protects them from damage when hitting an obstacle. Another practical feature is a storage box for spare blades, which is integrated in the frame for maximum operator convenience. An automatic transport locking system provides for safe road travel and is activated as the rear mowers slide in. The same applies to the sturdy stands, which offer safe storage in transport position.
In addition to featuring plenty of new features, the mowers also rely on well proven EasyCut technology for the actual cutting process. This includes the flat and V-shaped cutterbar for exceptionally smooth glides over the sward, the simple and straightforward design, few moving parts for reduced wear and lighter weight, and quick-fit knives as standard specification. In addition, EasyCut B 1000 features the innovative and patented SafeCut mower bed with its unique impact damage protection system. The system centres on a roll pin that connects each disc to the drive shaft and that shears off as the disc hits an obstacle. Upon impact, the sprocket continues revolving, so that the stopped disc jacks up on a thread and out of the operating area of its neighbouring blades, eliminating the risk of damage to the neighbouring discs. The mower is operated from the CCI Isobus terminal or from the ISOBUS terminal of an Isobus tractor.
